Sure i will vote for The Jules stamp!
May i give you few precisions concerning Jules stop in Portugal?
 
SM arrived on the wesnesday 5th of june 1878 (and not on the 6th): passing
Rocca cape in the morning, took a pilot at Cascaïs and entered the Tage
river. Anchored before custom house at 9 am. Jules is gone ashore, rented a
car to go to the french Consulate, managed by Mr O'Neil, banker. Then, he
visited the chapell San Roque. He met Mr Corazzi. Visited the convent of
Misericordia and his cloister; gone at O'Neil 's house and met the all
family.Then he went back to the Central hotel where he dinered with Corazzi
and O'Neil. On the evening, they had a walk in the city (mater de rieros, la
Galega, Esther Danghana). He wondered the houses with porcelain facades.
Went back on bord at midnight by boat. Wonderful hot weather. On the 6th,
Jules stood on bord. He looked the landscape: walls at Cintra, the harbour,
the houses and hills, the old Lisbon, remaining of the earthmovings. On the
evening, he dinered again at central hotel with O'Neil junior and Corazzi.
He then visited Mr Palha. He noted the local carpets. Come back on bord at
midnight by a small boat.
The SM III left Lisboa at 6 o'clock on the friday 7th by ESE winds.
 
That's what Verne has noted. Maybe a few détails more to add by reading the
local newspapers?
Verne went back in 1884; arrived at Lisboa on the 22th of may and sailed on
the 24. But that is another story!
2 vernian visits in Lisboa, that's enough for a stamp to remember!

My friends and loving of Jules Verne, I am here to ask for a favor to all!
 
In Portugal, the CTT (post offices of Portugal) had opened an initiative
that it aims at to renew the proximity between the Portuguese and the
universe of the stamps. Therefore they had asked for that it was chosen in
subject for stamps 2008 and I remembered the visit of Jules Verne to
Portugal.
 
In the next year it makes 130 years that the writer visited Portugal and
therefore it asked for to you that they voted in the subject so that he is
one of the chosen ones and either made a dedicated stamp. I thank your aid!

On the visit of Verne Portugal, is known that it arrived in the night of 6
of June of 1878, had dinner with the writers Pinheiro Chagas and Ramalho
Ortigão and the ilustrator Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro in the Braganza Hotel, in
Lisbon. Knows that it came folloied with its brother Paul, with the friends
Duval and Hetzel publisher and that it will have passed two nights in Lisbon
 One thinks that it will have visited the Monastery of the Jerónimos and the
Society of Geographia of Lisbon.
