My favorites...today.
1. Moby Dick - Herman Melville
2. Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea - Jules Verne
3. Walden - Henry David Thoreau
4. Farthest North - Fridtjof Nansen
5. The Narrative of A. Gordon Pym - Edgar Allan Poe
6. Typee - Herman Melville
7. Sea of Glory - Nathaniel Philbrick
8. Half Mile Down - William Beebe
9. Journey to the Center of the Earth - Jules Verne
10. Valley of the Dolls - Jacqueline Susann (everyone should have a top ten
trashy novel!)
Of poetry were included, I'd include Leaves of Grass by Whitman.

Subject: a simple questionnaire
Dear Friends,
If you have a couple of minutes to spare, please send a list of your "top
ten novels".
It doesn't matter which one you place at no. 1 or at no.10.
You may have ten Verne novels in your list or none.
This is just a modest attempt to find out the literary tastes of the Forum
members.
I will wait for a reasonable time and then post the results.
Best regards,
Nejat
