Jules Verne's Michel Strogoff, a 2006 silver proof 1.5 euro coin from
France.

The French Mint celebrates Jules Verne with this 2006 silver proof 1.5
euro coin featuring Michel Strogoff. This coin is part of the Fantastic
World of Jules Verne Series.

Reverse: Along the rim, at the top, "Michel Strogoff". In the center,
around Michel Strogoff on his horse, various scenes from the novel, and
"RF" for "French Republic".

Obverse: Along the rim, on top, "1928", "Jules Verne", and "1905". In
the center, a portrait of Jules Verne on a background made of writer and
explorer's tools, with the legend "Father of Science-Fiction". On the
right, the face value and the year of issue. Along the rim, at the
bottom, "Liberty Equality Fraternity", the motto of France.

Jules Verne wrote about space, air, and underwater travel before air
travel and practical submarines were invented. He wrote Michel Strogoff
in 1876.

I hope that this hasn't been covered before but does anyone know what
over commemorative coins will join this series? When they'll be issued?
And (most importantly) is there a way to get them cheaper than
$40?!?!!?!?!
