According to the Contento checklist, this story appeared in:

  "Hector Servadec"
Magasin d’Education et de Recreation 1 January to 15 December 1877

It would also be interesting if the magazine version of Clipper of the Clouds
could be made available somehow for comparison of illustrations and plot to the
Frank Reade Jr. story from the other thread.

The Contento checklist lists one issue from this story. I guess there were
more installments before or after this one.

  Clipper of the Clouds
Journal des Debats Politiques et Litteraires Jun 29 1886

I understand that Sam Moskowitz is the source for some of the notions of a
connection between Verne and Senarens. As related to me, Moskowitz described a
letter from Verne to Senarens which complimented him on the work. It was
apparently unanswered. Senarens was quite young at the time though not as
young as Moskowitz indicates. I don't know if this letter is extant and
accessible.

I think we will find that the American dime novels stole material as quickly as
they could. If the Munro Seaside Library editions are largely based on the
periodical versions and translated, which was fairly common during the period,
it would say something about this aspect of Verne stories in America and the
English language.

Is there a bibliography of Verne serials in French- and English-language
periodicals?
