Dear Jules Verne Forum members,
This is Nadav Har'El, Zvi's son.

I subscribed to the forum, and saw that you had already heard the tragic
news of my father's death. I read the deeply touching condolences that some
of you have written in English and in French - and also translated and read
them out to my mom and my family.

We want to thank you all for the condolences, and even more - for being such
great friends to my dad for the last 12 years or so. He truely loved his work
on the site and the forum, and really enjoyed the company of the people of
this forum, many of whom he corresponded with, and some he even met in person.

My father died peacefully in his home. Until a few minutes before his death
in 2:30am, he was working in great enthusiasm on the issue of Verniana.
He told my mom, excitingly, that he was working with others on the first
issue to commemorate Jules Verne's birth in February 8th, and that the issue
is almost complete.

I wanted to tell you all that while I'm not much of a Jules Verne expert
(I think I only read about 10 of his books), and though my French is rusty,
I would very much like to make sure that my dad's work on jv.gilead.org.il,
on the Jules Verne forum, and on Verniana, lives on. This was my dad's
greatest hobby, which he loved so much, and ironically started in my late
brother's memory. Now I want to make sure it lives on in his memory.

There is no reason to fear for the existance of my dad's site, or the domain
jv.gilead.org.il. The site is hosted in ibiblio.org, a big non-profit host
from North Carolina, and will not go away. I have an ibiblio.org account as
well, and will try as soon as possible to learn the ins and outs of this
system (I have a lot of experience with such matters - I got my passion for
computers from dad). Hopefully I will also learn how to involve more of you
with running the site (like my dad already did in recent efforts like
Verniana, which had several editors).
I wanted to ask you all for your help to do this smoothly; If you are aware
of any problems with the site, the mailing list, or anything, please let me
know. There are probably many parts of the site and the forum that I'm not
even aware of.

The first thing I would like to do is to get out that February 8 issue of
Verniana. I've already been in touch with Jean-Michel Margot on the subject,
and will do my best to help make this happen.

May my dad rest in peace, and his work live on. Because, as they say,
"Ars longa, vita brevis" (the art is long, life is short...).

Nadav.
