The first Verne's book that I had read when I was 11 and always my favourite. I have it always with me.

Have you compared your translation to the Arco Dr Schulman? If so how
different are they? If not, would you like to borrow my Arco?

Dear Peter,
Thanks for the reply. I am happy to hear that it will soon be available and
await it anxiously. I most certainly will still be interested in it. I have
read almost all of Verne's novels now, and about the only ones left are
those that either are not yet translated into English or are extremely
hard-to-find. I just wish I could read French. I really did try at school,
but got kicked out of French class for some practical jokes I played on the
teacher, which unfortunately she did not find amusing even though the whole
class did. Ah well! C'est la vie!

Anyway, veering back onto track here....thanks again, and if you know of
any other forth-coming translations I will be really happy to hear.
Translators really ROCK!!

Dear Gillian,
Thanks so much for your interest in my translation. Indeed, it should
[have
been] already published by the University of Nebraska Press, where I hope
it will still be published. The fault lies in its egregious translator
(me)
who has taken so long to finish it! So many different drafts, cuts, notes,
changes...but I will be handing in (finally!) the final draft in a matter
of weeks. I hope you'll still be interested by the time it comes out and
feel free to ask me any questions in the meantime. It's such a truly
beautiful and unusual piece of Verne's!

Help needed!

I understand that there is...(or will be) a translation of The Secret of
Wilhelm Storitz, translated by Peter Schulman. Where can I find this book?
I see it mentioned in several places but no mention on it being for sale.
I'd appreciate any help,

Cheers,
Gillian
