Members of your Jules Verne list might find this of interest.

My podcast, 'Mister Ron's Basment' (http://slapcast.com/users/revry)
this week is featuring Stanley Huntley's 1880 spoof of Jules Verne's
stories. It's called 'A Trip to the South Pole,' and was originally
published in the Brooklyn Eagle newspaper on February 8, 15, and 22,
1880. The story is lots of fun, and is an example of a satirical view
of Verne from a contemporary.

I will be posting the story in four episodes of the Basement podcast,
#1039-#1042. Of course, all episodes are always free of charge.
