Subject: Adapting Journey ...
If you go to
najvs.org
click on "link" at the bottom of the opening page
then on the next page click on "Adapting Jules Verne's Journey ...."
you will find an updated version of my article that originally
appeared in the NAJVS's Extraordinary Voyages in 2005, with some fresh
illustrations.
Hopefully this will serve to underline for critics that the new
theatrical film opening next month is not another version of the 1959 James
Mason movie (as so many critics labeled the 2004 AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS
just a remake of the 1956 film), but rather, in this case, one of now more
than a dozen films and television programs based on the Verne novel, Journey
to the Center of the Earth.
Thanks to Dennis Kytasaari for placing this online.
