Those interested in Lewis Mercier might like to know that his first book 


"a Manual of Greek Prosody" has been scanned in toto by google books. I started reading it and got kind of interested in it --a school book describes the various Greek meters, who invented them, stories about them and who wrote in them and so on. And the title page provides further information on the name of the school where he taught iin Glasgow



Google is plodding its way  through the entire Bodleian Library at Oxford and so many Verne books, including some old Sampson Low  books have popped up there.
