I have already seen the photos sometimes ago, but I remember also an article in the BSJV featuring illustrations (not photos) from a Chaffanjon article or book and the illustrations by Roux side by side and there really were similarities. The pohotos, at that time, were unable to capture action and hence they were rather still-life, in comparison with the Roux illustrations.
