Dear Nicole, dear all,

I will try to give a short indication what is about these pictures.

The editor and printer Pellerin published since 1796 tables with pictures and text in the style of the pictures I placed online, and they are considered as a first thing becoming lateron comic - strips. So you can say these are the grand - parents of comic-strips. Normaly these tables in a large paper format contain a full story on one page, in case of the two I met online 9 pictures. Due to its size I cut the scans into single pictures.
From Jules Verne they published - with authorization from Hetzel, 3 tables containing 5 weeks in a ballon 8with 9 pictures), Captain Hatteras (9 pictures) and Keraban (16 pictures) - I have two of them on hand and made the scans and online presentation of them by scanning them. The first two titles where also republished and given another numberation in the serie of tables. I have no information about the exact publishing time but I presume the 1870s - 1880s. The book - covers on the initial website and the larger front picture are taken from an "album", a book wherein 25 tables where included originally.
