Hello to all -

I just have a question about the new translation of "The Green Ray".

I had pre-ordered a copy of the new "Green Ray" form Amazon back in
mid-September but had not heard anything until yesterday. They sent me a
message saying the estimated arrival date was now 03/12/2009 -
03/18/2009. Does this mean that the book will not be published until
then or is it available elsewhere other than Amazon? I tried the website
of Luath Press. It listed the book and price, but I couldn't figure out
where on the page to place the order.

Thanks.

Joe

The new translation of Le Rayon vert is due for publication at the end
of this month by Luath Press, Edinburgh. The translator is an Oxford
University graduate in French, Karen Loukes.
I have read the ms and corrected any errors in translation (I hope!) but
did not change the style, which is thus entirely the work of Karen
Loukes. I have provided a map and written an Introduction which explains
the relationship of the novel to Verne's 1879 journey to the Hebrides.
The book contains reproductions of the illustrations. There is an
American distributor but most will acquire it from Amazon I imagine.
Ian Thompson.
