Rick Wakeman - 1974 and 1998 made two albums about Journey.

Perhaps. But my pop-culture guess would be that if there is a Vernian inspiration present at all, it has been filtered through Michael Todd, circa 1956. Ricky Nelson's "Travelin' Man" travelogue video (1961) is arguably as likely a deep-background hommage ("Pretty Polynesian baby..."). I somehow doubt that anyone connected with the Donna Summer video was making the passing-by-the-Sandwich-Islands=Hawaii connection, assuming that they had read Verne's novel in the first place. But who can say what was in the producers' minds?
