Today has been on of those days when you are in two minds.

Bad Day
As the occupants of the Columbiad we had to be weighed to determine
just how much push was needed to get us off the ground. I was the first
and I began to regret that lack of walking I had done since leaving
London and it showed as I weighed in at 11 stone and 4 lbs
(embrassingly 10 lbs heavier than when I last weighed myself in April),
next came Passeprtout who offered to be weighed in a costume not unlike
tht used by the vaudeville strongmen but I felt that standard clothes
would apply. He came in at 12 stone and 7lbs which took Mr. Barbicane
by suprise. "It's all muscle!" Passepartout said, and pounded his chest
for good measure. Next it was Mr. Barbicane's turn and the shoe was
soon on other foot as he weighed in at 15 stone exactly, leaving
Passepartout to prod him in the stomach several times. Therefore as the
Columbiad weighs 19,250lbs, our weights added made a grand total of
19,793lbs, which was telegraphed to the science department at the
University of Tampa who replied an hour later with the force needed to
propel us all at a minimum of 17,000mph as per Professor Smit's amended
calculations

Good Day
It was William who observed this afternoon that with Florida being five
hours behind London, at that 2.45pm 12 years ago I was formally
challenged to journey the world in 80 days and in a chance discovery
found my orginal diary and we spent the rest of the day reliving our
memories of that trip and I think I might just have inspired William to
take after me as well!
