but I think this counts

(Source: BBC News Channel, December 15th 2009)

Top of the Hour News Headlines as of 1000 GMT
a.. Defence Spending: More money on Afghanistan helicopters, less money
for the Air Force
b.. BA Strikes: British Airways call for more talks after a 93% strike
vote
c.. Climate Change: African nations are called back to the discussions
after their walkout
d.. Berlusconi Attack: Attacker "apolgises" as Prime Minister is kept in
hospital for a second night
And later in the hour
a.. New Sherlock Holmes Movie: An interview with the stars and a
discussion on the 19th century taser
b.. Octopus Cleverclogs: What did the octopus do with a coconut? Stun
scientists
Now clearly we know about the last one (after all how else could the Kraken
have homed in on the Nautlius!) but that first one does mean there is a
genuine interest in Victorian literature, it seems to me that the only
problem is trying to get Hollywood as interested as the rest of us, hence my
suggestion some time ago that we do our own, completely voluntary production
of a Verne book (i.e something simple that doesn't require too much effort)
and then put it on the internet to say to Hollywood "Here is your audience,
now make a movie of a Verne book we would be proud to support!"
