Our Christmas spirit took several knocks today.

- This morning whilst Passepartout and William were looking for a Yule
Log, Passepartout tripped over a prime candidate and sprained his ankle
meaning that William had to make two journeys. One to bring
Passepartout back and another to bring the log back.
- Then, whilst I was hanging the mistletoe over the front door, I had
the misfortune to hammer my thumb instead of the nail
- And if that wasn't enough bad things going wrong, my wife went to
answer the door to collect some holly and managed to prick herself at
the same time.
- And then to top it all off, William managed to drop a coal hod on his
foot. It didn't hurt him, of course, but he felt that as we had all had
misfortunes during the course of the day a little sympathy would go a
long way.
