Tad,

Thanks for this message (and thanks for alerting me, back in April, to the
existence of this recording). Unfortunately, this recording of my
translation of JCE, read by Garard Green, available from Audible.com, and
purportedly published by the BBC, is an unauthorised one. I alerted Oxford
University Press to this infringement of copyright eight months ago, but
they have not been able to find a solution yet.

Naxos also published an unauthorised recording of the same translation, read
by Daniel Philpott, in 1995, but in that case, we were, eventually, able to
receive royalties, with the recording withdrawn from their sales catalogue.

My OUP books have been pirated by audio and print publishers a number of
other times: these are also still sub judice, so I'd prefer not to give
details at the present stage.

Of the Verne audiobooks currently available at Audible.com, two are
particularly worthy of note. A recording of Around the World in 80
Days, narrated by Jim Dale and published by Listening Library, uses
the recent Penguin translation by Michael Glencross. A recording of
Journey to the Centre of the Earth, narrated by Garard Green and
published by BBC Worldwide, uses the William Butcher translation.
