I am pleased to report that we have all recovered from our various
knocks. Passepartout can now walk on his foot (with a slight wince
every now and again), my thumb is now returned to it's normal size and
my wife now handles holly wearing thick gloves.

Today is the last Sunday of Advent and so we all attended the service
at our local church (St. Mary's in the Hollow) where the vicar (the
Reverend Wilson) asked if we could assist at the forthcoming carol
service on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately, one of the readers of the
lessons had been indisposed by an extremely bad cold and had lost their
voice and he wondered if I could step into the breach. I said that I
would be delighted and asked what reading I should give. "Whatever
tickles your fancy" said the vicar, "just as long as it references the
Magi travelling".

So this evening, Passepartout (with a little help from William) handed
me the Bible that has been in the Fogg family since the days of the
Civil War and I've been thumbing through it trying to find a suitable
piece. I quite like this reference to a travelling star and wonder if
the Doctor will be able to shed any light on what the Star of Bethlehem
was.
