It suddenly occured to me this afternoon that what with everything else
happening, we had not played any parlour games this Christmas and so
after another snowball session (which the Doctor won handsomely), I
decided that we should play some. There are three I remember from my
childhood and so we played those.

Laughing Game

Myself, my wife, Passepartout, William (nursing Enya who was purring
like nobody's business) and the Doctor all sat in a circle. I
said "Ha!" to my wife, who then said "He!" to Passepartout who then
said "Ho!" to William who then said "Ha!" to the Doctor whose face
suddenly crumpled and he burst out laughing. "I'm sorry!" he said, as
he pulled his chair out of the circle, "but this is the most ridiculous
game I have ever encountered". With the Doctor out, we carried on. Next
to go was Passepartout, followed by my wife and then William leaving me
as the winner. After some refreshment we then played

The Sculptor

William was chosen to the Sculptor of the title, and everyone held
stood still. The object of the game is for the Sculptor to position the
other players into such a ridiculous pose that someone starts to laugh
(and is out of the game). After creating something that would not out
of place in the British Museum, none of us were laughing so William
decide to distract us. Or at least tried to, but we were having none of
it. Then William remembered something the Doctor said a few days ago
and said casually, "Isn't that a Zygon?" "Where" said the Doctor and
broke his pose and thus it was his turn to be the Sculptor. That kept
us busy for a good hour and was followed by

How? What? Where? When?

The Doctor asked to go first for this game and thought of a object.
Starting with myself we then asked the following questions:

How do you like it? Answer: As far away as possible!
Why do you like it? Answer: I don't if I am honest
When do you like it? Answer: Before 10,000BC
Where do you like it? Answer: Nowhere near Earth

It suddenly dawned on me that the Doctor was referencing something from
his life so I had to explain the object had to be something we all
knew, so we started again.

How do you like it? Answer: At the beach
Why do you like it? Answer: It cools me down
When do you like it? Answer: In the summer
Where do you like it? Answer: In my mouth

"Ice Cream" exclaimed William, and he had indeed guessed the correct
answer which allowed him to chose the object. We all had a lovely time
and are definitely going to miss the Doctor when he leaves on New
Year's Day, but we have decided to hold a New Year's party for him.
William asked if we shouldn't invite some of our friends from around
the world to celebrate with us. I was about to say that was impossible,
when the Doctor beamed "You tell me where and when they are and I'll go
and fetch them!" so we shall have to make sure we have a lot of food on
offer.
