Have you ever had that occasion when you are making good progress and
then you are brought to a shuddering halt? Well, that's precisely what
happened to us today when the Nautlius' progress through the Torres
Straits between Papua and Australia was stopped by all things a
sandbank! Of course it wasn't until quite late in the day this was the
percieved wisdom (prior to the discovery everything from a major
mechanical fault to being pulled backwards with the same force as we
were generating forwards by a whirlpool) but it means that we are
likely to be stuck here for a good five days or so (which is not a
complete disaster as we are located quite close to a small island and
to be honest I think I need to stretch my legs a bit!)
