gallica (acc. to their advanced search) still has a large quantity of pdfs
of JV's work. Of VC there are two files from before 1906: 1867 and 1877.

. . . At least for viewing form the U.S., at google books there are still
some pdf files of 19th century French JV editions, including an 1872 VC, as
well as books from other popular authors of that time such as
Erckmann-Chatrian, Hector Malot, Paschal Grousset. What exactly does the
French ban entail?

I've got 3 Hetzel editions of Le Tour du monde as pdfs, if that's what you
mean. Are we to understand that Gallica no longer has any Verne books? And
could you please provide details of the court case?

Did any forum members have the foresight to download the early Verne
versions of centre of the earth (and other early verne novels) before they
were removed as a result of a lawsuit by the French government? I am
particularly interested in the 1864 version which has many changes from
later versions
