I feel (as I suspect a lot of members have) as if the stuffing's been knocked out of me

BlankOn Sunday, our pet cat died (after twenty years of being around us) and
both myself and my family were all naturally upset at her passing and then
on Wednesday came the even more devasting news that Walter had died as well.
As a result of these two events (the latter being of a significantly higher
magnitude of scale than the former) I have been feeling even more subdued
than normal and so was flicking aimlessly through the television channels I
have at my disposal this afternoon and came across an idea that I would like
to address to both the Forum and the NAJVS.

We, in the United Kingdom, get a lot of American imported programmes (as I
have mentioned in the past) and one of the channels is DIVA TV and at this
particular moment they were showing the Oprah Winfrey programme and she had
a guest on who had lost her mother in the September 11th attacks (the
programme was first aired in 2002) and had written a book to commerate her
life which was being used to raise funds for the victim's family programme
as a means of coping with her loss. That got me thinking and so I would like
to propose the following:

To help commerate the life of Walter James Miller and to raise funds for the
organisations that he supported over the years, I propose that as many of
the Forum members and members of the NAJVS who wish to contribute create and
publish (either online or in hard copy format) a sequel to "The Mighty
Orinoco" or "The Chase of the Golden Meteor" whichever people think would be
the best testimony to Walter's efforts in getting the works of Jules Verne
into the public arena.

If members think that this would be a suitable tribute, then may I be
included into this project, as although I never met Walter personally, I did
contact him a couple of times via e-mail and therefore would like to add to
any forum / society based tribute.
