The email list has probably already been harvested and placed on one or several
spam mailing lists. Most won't be foolish enough to provide a link back to the
forum member profile pages so we'll be unlikely to know the source of one more
piece of spam or fraudulent "phishing" email.
Plus, nearly every email address appears somewhere on the Internet or can be
harvested on mail traffic across public nodes. A brand new email address can
get spam in a short period of time, especially if the domain name is well known
and the user name is guessable.
If it is easy to display the email addresses as a CAPTCHA-like image that is
hard to parse with OCR then do that. Otherwise, let's not worry about it and
each take responsibility to avoid being taken in by fraud schemes which are
really old hat these days. I think we are all adults here and with an
above-minimum level of computer skills and experience.
