Many thanks, Volker, for the detailed answer! I  want to receive these notes very much, I'll try to understand the site under your reference. And you have bought this book? It in French? Perhaps I can sometime read it...

Yours faithfully,
Valeria

Yes, the book contains text AND notes of the 15 songs.

The introduction is quite general on music in Verne's novels, but there in no analysis at all of the music (of the songs) or of the relations between text and music; there is no analysis of the different versions of Verne's songs (published first in 1857/63 and afterwards in some of his novels); no serious informations are provided on the three composers of the music nor on their relations to Verne. Some of the bibliographical informations are erronous and there is no answer on the question (suggested by the title) what songs have to do in travel books ("récits de voyage"). That is what I mean by "desappointing" for an academic publication for which you have to pay around 39 euros.

Anyway, that's my
personal opinion - as Vernian and as a buyer of the book. As for the notes, I think that their reproduction is ok, and this is what is important for you...

Best, Volker
