Whilst we are on the subject of underground things, members in the UK might well want to watch the BBC's science programme "Horizon" on Wednesday at 9.00pm BST on BBC Two (and on BBC HD). The programe is titled "The Core" and the synopisis reads: "For centuries, people have dreamt of reaching the centre of the earth. Now scientists are uncovering an alien and bizarre world that world that lies 4,000 miles beneath our feet".

And if that wasn't enough for you, this evening on the Men and Movies channel (Sky 228 in the UK) the 1976 version of "Journey to the Centre of the Earth" starring Kenneth More is being broadcast
