There is a detailed discussion of Verne films in the JV Encyclopaedia
(Taves & Michaluk), with an analysis of practically every
English-language film that had been made when the book was published.
No attempt is made to judge their accuracy or fidelity to the novels.
It might be worthwhile to compile such a list here, but I would not
like to limit it to English-language films.
To start things off, here are three film versions that I particularly like:
Viaje fantástico en globo (1975)
Michel Strogoff (1975 mini-series)
Deti kapitana Granta (1936)
Mathias Sandorf (1979 mini-series) gets minus points for inventing too
much story before the actual conspiracy takes off, but is otherwise
not bad at all.
Cheers,
Garmt.
