Prior to Brian mentioning it, I had no idea that Tom Baker (the fourth Doctor between 1974 and 1981) read an audio version of Jules Verne (which just goes to show how little I know about these things) but getting back to the main debate about the accuracy of these recordings, there is in this day and age a very simple way to correct mistakes and that is to do it yourself. I dare say that our German friends would be able to voice the Lidenbrocks and seeing as Hans does very little bar grunt occasionally and speak very simple Icelandic works anyone could tackle him. The only problem might be with Friederskin (I know I have spelled that wrong) as he is also Icelandic but has quite a bit to say (still I'd be game if anyone else would be?)
