This sounds very interesting... I think that a collaboration to
make audio versions of Verne's books would be something very good to
try. Having one person as the "narrator" and then suitable individuals
for each character's dialogue would add a very good element to the final
product. It would certainly be much more interesting that just one
person reading the whole book out loud by himself. An full-length book
might be too difficult to start with, but one of Verne's short stories,
such as "A Voyage in a Balloon" (http://jv.gilead.org.il/pg/16085-h.htm
[1]) might make a good trial piece. If anyone is interested in putting
something like this together, I would be willing to do the audio mixing
and editing. I already have professional software that would do all that
is necessary for a project like this. I would offer myself as a "voice",
but I am afraid that my voice is not at all suitable for something like
this. Best regards!

accuracy of these recordings, there is in this day and age a very simple
way to correct mistakes and that is to do it yourself. I dare say that
our German friends would be able to voice the Lidenbrocks and seeing as
Hans does very little bar grunt occasionally and speak very simple
Icelandic works anyone could tackle him. The only problem might be with
Friederskin (I know I have spelled that wrong) as he is also Icelandic
but has quite a bit to say (still I'd be game if anyone else would
be?)
