Good morning everybody,

Just received by mail DVD with 1941 Russian movie "Mysterious Island" and of course watched it immediately and was amazed, how good the Russian (Soviet) movie industry was as early as in 1941 - I do not recall any other world filmmakers producing such a good Verne movie!

(Just for the sake of historical curiosity, I would like to know, whether it was produced before the Nazi invasion on June 22, 1941, or afterwards.)

Fortunately, I know Russian quite well (beside being rather relative to my native Czech, I had to learn Russian at all levels from 1963 to 1979, "thanks" to living in a communist totalitarian regime) and am able to enjoy the dialogs.

The search was very easy and quick, I just googled "tainstvennyj ostrov 1941" and found relevant pages

I have ordered and paid by credit card and - voila - in two days the dvd arrived to my door in Belgium!

Regards,

George Pelka
