To judge by its absence from the archive, apparently this message was lost in the ether ... if not I apologize, but since I was responding to a post that mentioned me it would seem rude not to be sure.

Thanks for the kind word, Rick, and the welcome news ... tho I'd call it the Nicholson-Matheson-Witney-Price-Hull Master of the World.  Producer Nicholson had the vision and loved the Verne novels; Matheson provided the framework in his script; Witney's direction gave it the necessary toughness; and Price and Hull ideally captured the hero and antagonist, both deeply flawed but one with flaws that could be forgiven.

For his part, Bronson does for that movie what Kirk Douglas did for Disney's 20K, that is, provide its drawbacks.  ;-)

The DVD comes on top of the CD last year, with considerable Les Baxter music for the movie never published before.

An interesting bit of fresh info; a new book on Matheson indicates he had previously scripted two unproduced JV tv films, one based on Face au drapeau.  Sadly no further details, but it suggests approaches to Verne were already formulating in his mind in advance of scripting this.

Brian Taves, our list's top specialist in Verne on film, has often praised Price & Bronson's MASTER OF THE WORLD (1961) -- well, the old charmer has at last gotten a commercial DVD release -- it's reviewed here ...
