I agree that DVD quality is good, the assessment of acting by Bronson and Price depends of course on the point



- whether you are fan of those venerable movie actors (and give them a benefit of doubt)


- whether you read the book and compare it with the movie (which is favorable)


- whether you enjoy Vernian atmosphere and just a little bit of tongue in cheek



I thing it is watchable, especially for JV afficionados, including scenes involving sea, nature, technique etc.



I was happy that I had pan-and-scan VHS version, now I am even happier that I have widescreen version.
