I am hoping that everyone has recovered from the celebrations of last night

and has now realised (like myself) that as we are now in 2012, we are
in the 140th anniversary year of "Around the World in Eighty Days",
therefore I shall carry on with my forty days story (and will consult
often about how to ensure that my version is in the same spirit of the
80 days orginal) but would like to know if we could start off by
putting the following idea for discussion.
  
It's New Year's Eve 1872 and as Mr. Fogg, the Princess and Passepartout
spend the last day of the year thinking about all the people they have
met, especially during the last three months of the year. The feelings
are mutual as the people in question also are thinking about Foggs and
each remembering their encounter with them.
  
I'd be more than happy to write about Brigadier Cromarty in Benares if
anyone else is game as well?
