Begum's Fortune in MegaMillions?

How does the Megamillions lotto prize this weekend of $500+ million in
the combine of some states of the USA (Florida doesn't participate-
phooey) stack up against the Begum's Fortune?
I understand that the one was an inheritance, and the other a lottery
- but are the numbers similar? Was the Begum's Fortune in British
Pounds?
Aren't there a couple of Verne stories about lotteries?
